If there was a demo during the keynote that left you cold, it was probably the one of Midi Mobilizer by Line 6 and Planet Waves . During the demo, and when you could only see the keynote via written text and a few images, it was commented that they must have some kind of problem. And looking at the Keynote on the Apple page and on the developer’s page, you see different presentations .
But this is totally secondary. It is a program that is still in development phase and as such we saw errors, in fact, those errors were the culprits for not understanding well a program that is amazing . The idea basically is, to connect your iPhone to Rig Remote which will be synchronized with the amplifier head (from the same house) and we will get our phone to interact with the midi rack included in the amplifier head. It will be able to send you certain sound settings to be automatically loaded and dramatically vary the sound of the guitar.
Of course, this is a strictly professional application (AirStrip is also a professional application) but it is extremely useful when you are looking for a specific sound for recording a guitar . Of course you have to go through the box, ( buy a Rig Remote to attach to your amp head ) but it’s amazing how powerful the iPhone SDKs can be when you can communicate with such an unusual device in such a particular way. I hope that soon more data will be published about the application to give us a detailed idea of how it works.
