Windows 10 Mobile has a death date of December 10, 2019. From this date Microsoft will no longer release security patches and other updates to mobile devices with its operating system. Prior to this date the company has recommended its users to update their mobile device to any other with Android or iOS.

The new support page that Microsoft has enabled to inform its users of the end of support date for this version of its mobile operating system details that applications will be able to continue receiving updates. Once this date has been reached Microsoft will allow its users to make manual and automatic backups for 3 more months, until March 2020. Also the possibility of restoring the mobile phone through a previous backup and other applications of the ecosystem will continue to work for 12 more months.

The interesting thing about this issue is that Microsoft itself has recommended its customers to migrate to an Android or iOS compatible device e. In order to make the migration much easier from the company they assure that their duty will be to make their mobile applications on those platforms and devices fully compatible.

In the end the end of the mobile version of Windows has an end date, something that could be seen a mile away because the niche of users they had was quite low. Their current users will have to decide to migrate to iOS or Android , although many companies that had trusted Windows have already switched to iOS.
