If we collect all the data we have received so far, this store would be the seventh Apple Store in our country (three in Madrid, two in Barcelona and one in Valencia counting the two already opened in Barcelona and Madrid).
This Apple Store would not be one of the so-called Significant , but would look like we can already see in the stores of La Maquinista and Xanadu. It would be located in the La Cañada shopping center , a complex with multiplex cinemas, bowling alleys and 150 restaurants and shops; and it would be one of the 27 stores to be opened this year according to Apple’s plans. At the moment there are no data on its dimensions, although it is most likely that they will be similar to those of the store in the Xanadu centre in Madrid.
Apparently, Apple has shown interest in opening an Apple Store in the heart of the Costa del Sol because of its tourist interest, because of “its 320 days of sunshine a year”, because of the possibility of arriving by air or boat to the area and because of its proximity to Gibraltar and Malaga . It would also be the first Apple Store in the south of the country, with the two opened shops and the four rumoured ones concentrated in the northern half of the country.
UPDATE : Jose María tells me via his Twitter (@octopusjig) that the province of Málaga already appears on the Apple employment website as a place to apply for a job at the Apple Store, which greatly reinforces the data provided by the original source. Thanks for letting us know, Jose María!
