The Macs are dead… The Post-Pc era has arrived and Apple’s business is no longer selling computers, it’s not creating better Macs. Apple has forgotten the professional, the user of their computers. During this last quarter of this year 2014 we saw some curious data. As always, at Apple we kept you informed. Apple managed to sell more Macs during these three months than iPad tablets . Maybe it was because of their imminent renewal? We could think so, but the same did not happen with the iPhone.
The truth is that the data is there and it is clear which is Apple’s primary market. But it is curious that Apple continues to increase sales of Macs in recent years , unlike the general market for selling “PC’s” that sees its numbers go down.
Today, 6% of the world’s computers are Macs . Yes, it’s a ridiculous percentage, I know, but let’s think that in 2006 this percentage was 2.1%. Then we see that Apple has been increasing Macs sales in 33 of the last 34 quarters. Apple manages to break a personal record that had been unbeatable since 1995. It seems that the iPhone effect is being very important for this.
A few days ago our colleagues from El Blog Salmón brought us some interesting data about the market share of Android and iOS in Europe. In the field of Smartphones, the data is what it is and we all know it, Android is a clear winner .
But if we focus on the Tablets, we see that the iPad is still light years away from its competitors. The share is clearly 72 percent compared to 27 percent for iPads with respect to the other manufacturers of tablets android . Apple has a good product in the iPad, let’s hope it knows how to treat it as it deserves.
