Our Macs are in danger, and this time the danger isn’t coming from unknown places, but from something as everyday as Spotify. According to reports from 9to5mac, there have been a number of reports from users of the free version of Spotify, who complain that the ads shown by Spotify are coming with malware inside.
This malware would cause malicious web pages to be opened that are likely to try to infect your computer while you listen to music that is completely unrelated to the fact that they are trying to access all your data. This begs the question how can malware be introduced so easily into a reputable application like Spotify?
If anyone favors this situation, it’s Apple. Although it is true that its streaming music service does not reach the same volume of users, is having a strong growth , and may even increase the figures it has had in recent months thanks to this substantial security problem that Spotify is suffering.
If we add to this the recent problems that have arisen between the two streaming services, it is clear that Spotify is not going through its best moment in the Apple ecosystem and could soon be overtaken by one of its biggest rivals in the form of Apple Music.
It remains to be seen whether Spotify’s problems will be solved in the coming days or whether Apple Music will see its loyal followers increase. In your case, do you use any of them?
