Lo más raro que ha hecho Apple

After reviewing the best, the worst, the most rumored and the most innovative things Apple has done in this intense 2012, it’s time to take the step to the weirdest. Yeah, you read that right, the weirdest. Because Apple also does things that only she understands and nobody knows the real reason that drives her to do it. Luckily, there have been few such cases this year, but it is not because there are few that we will not comment on them. If you want to know what I mean, just keep reading.

Once again, we give way to the best this intense 2012 has to offer. During this week we have taken care to give you the best summary of everything that has happened so far . As everything in life has a beginning and an end, we have decided to close this summary with , what we have considered, the strangest thing Apple has done during this course .

It is really very complicated to make a list of this type, because what one considers strange, another may consider normal . But fortunately, there has been one case that surprised both locals and outsiders in the industry. Today we are talking about the iPad case , about how Apple wanted to erase the third generation of its successful tablet from the map.

The New iPad

Back in early March we were presented with a brand new iPad, an iPad quite similar to its predecessor on the outside (just a bit thicker) but with many significant changes on the inside .

What attracted the most attention, which in turn was the most expected, was the retinal screen . Apple gave its audience what they were asking for. Finally, the iPad screen could be seen with the same clarity as the screens of the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. On top of that, improved the quality of both cameras , incorporating the same lens system that the iPhone 4S already had. This involved better video recording , at 1080p , with automatic stabilization, auto exposure, auto focus and face detection. To make everything flow properly, the new A5X quad-core processor was added.

Other qualities of this new tablet were the ability to connect to LTE networks and the inclusion of Siri to do the dictation function .

iPad with retinal screen

Only seven months after the launch of the third generation, Apple decides to launch its fourth generation. In other words, Apple decided to retire an entire superstore only seven months old. The reasons for the upgrade, so insignificant that the vast majority of third generation iPad owners have not renewed their device .

Its major updates were none other than the addition of the new A6X processor , which gives it twice the performance of its predecessor; the 720p FaceTime HD camera for better video call quality; the thinness of the iPad 2 ; small improvements to the Wi-Fi and LTE antenna ; and of course, the new Lightning connector .

Not only is this initiative very rare that Apple has had to get two iPads with a margin of time much less than the year that we are used to , in this case is closer to half a year than the whole year. In addition the third generation iPad has been left out of the windows and tables of their shops.

Right now if we want to buy an iPad we have three different options . One of them is the new mini iPad , the other the last iPad that has been released, but the third is none other than the iPad 2 . They have banished a whole super-seller from the store. The purpose of this strange act is uncertain, or as many think, unnecessary. We are used to the generational change that characterizes Apple but there is no such generational marginalization.

This topic gave a lot of talk at the time but it is hardly given any importance anymore, but it will certainly remain as a precedent to justify possible premature generational updates. Only time can tell whether this fact has been an isolated case or a regular feature of this new era of Apple with Tim Cook at its head.
