First the Dev-Team announced its intention to release last Sunday its method to jailbreak this version using SHAtter, a hole discovered with many possibilities of not being able to be closed by Apple. Then he jumped to the geohot scene coming back from the dead to get ahead with his own system, limera1n , which takes advantage of another hole.
This made Dev-Team’s people delay their plans and decide, rightly, to book SHAtter for the day when Apple closes the file exploding hole so that we have jailbreak secured for a while. So far so good. The problem is that the first version of Limera1n was only available for Windows and it was not until a few hours ago that its Mac equivalent was finally released.
As mentioned above, Limera1n is compatible with
all the latest iPod models, iPhone, iPad and even the recent AppleTV (which is also based on iOS) and using it is as simple as pressing a button and following the usual steps to put the device into recovery mode.
Thanks to JulenFern and all of you who gave us the heads up!
