Lightroom 3 News on Apple
Adobe has just released the public beta of Lightroom 3 , a new version of its processor and RAW file manager that comes with great changes under the hood in order to multiply the application’s performance by handling large image libraries and an improved processing engine that promises to squeeze the image quality and sharpness out of our cameras. Some of its main new features are:
The import system has been redesigned to make it more intuitive and powerful. The processing engine has been largely rewritten with the addition of improvements to the Focusing and Color Noise Reduction tools. Film grain effect and two new vignetting modes. Advanced export options including the ability to create videos with audio with our slideshows . The videos use the H.264 format and we can select the music directly from our iTunes library (Mac version only, of course). In addition, we can automatically publish them on services such as Youtube. Advanced integration with Flickr to upload our images and collections simply by drag and drop. In addition, if we make any changes to an image we have previously uploaded and we use a Pro account the Flickr version will also be updated automatically. New watermark function . Customizable print templates .
You can download the beta for free , but for the moment only in English. The Mac version is 68.1 MB and fully functional until April 2010 so it’s also a good opportunity to test the program if you don’t already know it.
