Yes, we know, Apple hasn’t been quite so fine when it comes to software , and the release of iTunes 12.2 was another sad example of that. From the delay in release and the confusion created by using Apple Music over a non-existent version, to the various problems that users reported thanks to the chaos created between the music library, iTunes Match songs and Apple Music.
Today, after almost two weeks, Apple is releasing iTunes 12.2.1 for Mac OS X , a maintenance update that seeks to fix all these bugs between libraries and songs.
This small update will finally resolve the confusing situation between our iTunes Match songs and Apple Music, since at first iTunes classified our songs stored in the cloud as if they were Apple Music songs, which caused DRM to be added to those songs (our songs) by Apple, resulting in real chaos.
On the other hand, it also solves a problem when listening to Beats 1 for long periods of time, which caused the station to stop playing and in order to listen again we needed to restart iTunes.
The update is now available from the update option on the Mac App Store and at the moment there is no update information for Windows, as soon as it is available we will update this entry.
Update : Ready! Not too late and the update to iTunes 12.2.1 for Windows is also available now.
