The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models are back, after a lot of rumors about their possible launch, they are back with a vengeance and could be one of the biggest updates Apple has made to its smartphone range, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would arrive to update the current models
The addition of the “s” tag means that the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would be an upgrade from the current models, respecting the same design and dimensions of their screens. The change would come from within and if the latest rumours are true, it would be one of the biggest updates Apple has made to its range of smartphones.
It goes without saying that the launch of these two models 6s and 6s Plus would perhaps relegate the iPhone 7 to next year , giving Cupertino’s people the opportunity to do something very big, with one more year to go to develop the next generation iPhone.
Same design and aesthetics, different hardware inside
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would respect the design and dimensions of the current models, but several improvements would be made inside. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, these new models would have twice as much RAM as the current ones, resembling the memory that equips the iPad Air 2, but in this case it would have the LPDDR4 technology, much faster than the LPDDR3 that equips the current iPhone 6.
On the other hand they would have the Apple A9 processor, a camera that would reach 12 mega pixels, an improvement in Touch ID and the same Force Touch technology that has been included in the Apple Watch, although with nuances. It would have the same result but a different construction than seen in the smartwatch, given the larger screen size.
Apple Watch technology in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
In addition to the Force Touch technology, the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would match some improvements seen in the apple clock, such as the new 7,000 series aluminium material, which is approximately 60% stronger than that used in current models.
On the other hand, it is rumored that Apple is preparing a more premium model, an iPhone 6s Plus with a sapphire screen . Apple would have already tried to prepare a screen of this material for the iPhone 6, but their plan failed after the collapse of GT Advanced Technologies, the ones in charge of providing them with the sapphire material.
There is also talk of marketing the colour pink gold, another addition inherited from the Apple Watch. What has been denied, according to a report, is that Apple was thinking of launching a four-inch iPhone model. For the time being, they will continue to offer the same sizes that they have already offered with the iPhone 6, 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches for the Plus model.
The latest KGI report is quite optimistic and to Apple’s plan to start mass production of the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in August, it should be added that according to their predictions these models would sell between 80 and 90 million units, as we have known thanks to Cult of Mac.
