iPhone 4S sets record for most booked Apple product on day one with 1 million units

Nota de prensa oficial de Apple

It seems that the new iPhone 4S, despite causing “disappointment” because of the expectations of an iPhone 5, may be Apple’s biggest success to date. The company has issued a press release announcing to the media that in just 24 hours one million units of the iPhone 4S have already been reserved. 200,000 of those reservations in the first 12 hours, only in the operator AT&T.

Considering that the iPhone 4 got “only” 600,000 reservations during the same period of time, this is proof that the Apple phone is healthier than ever. Phil Schiller, Apple’s vice president of global marketing, has provided some comments in the press release:

This increase in almost double the number of bookings may come about not only because of a greater demand for the iPhone due to its success, but also because of the addition of a new operator in the group of companies that markets the contract phone: Sprint . With this one there will be three companies that will sell the iPhone 4S in the United States. In Spain we will have to wait a little longer to see the new phone in stores, and we still have to know if it can be reserved or if there will be a queue at the Apple Store if we want to have it from day one. We will keep you informed.
