We’ve been discussing rumors about the possible iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 for several weeks now. All these rumors point to the fact that both will be released in the fall of this year and, many of the users and media, we are almost certain that the iPad Mini 2 will include the long-awaited Retina screen. However, a new report suggests that the latter will not happen and that both devices will not arrive at the same time.
The iPad Mini gained a lot of followers when it was released last year because of its price, but it also received a lot of criticism mainly because it didn’t have a Retina screen. This issue comes up every time the new version of the iPad Mini is talked about and it’s clear that all consumers are waiting for the second generation to mount a Retina screen.
The iPad Mini 2 with Retina display may not be introduced this year with the iPad 5
Just a few days ago we received information from Taiwan that the iPad 5 was already in the final stages of production and would probably be launched in September. However, this same source assured us that the iPad Mini 2 did not have a specific date yet, so it left a little more in the air when the new small Apple tablet could be presented.
Since rumors began, it has almost always been assumed that the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 would be introduced together, but according to information from Taiwan, if Apple decided to include a Retina display in the iPad Mini 2 it could mean that the device could not be released until the end of 2013 .
A new report appeared on the web today, also from Taiwan. This new rumor assures that the iPad Mini 2 with Retina display will not arrive this year with the iPad 5 , due to the shortage of screens. According to this new report, Apple could launch an iPad Mini 2 this year, but it will still not incorporate the Retina screen . The update of the iPad Mini 2 with Retina display could come, according to the information provided, at the beginning of 2014.
As I always say in these cases, they’re just rumors. We must also bear in mind that not all rumours or reports coming out of Taiwan are always entirely correct. Moreover, this one doesn’t seem too likely . As they say in PhonesReview, there are many potential customers waiting for the launch of the iPad Mini 2 with Retina screen. However, if Apple were to launch a second generation of the small tablet again without a Retina screen, how many people would buy it? Well, we assume that many less, especially since the Retina model we’re all waiting for would arrive in a few months.
We’d like your opinion. Are you waiting for the iPad Mini 2? If it came without a Retina screen, would you buy it?
