If we start talking about useful features that iOS has but few people use, we would never finish. iOS is one of those operating systems that offers much more than we can take in . When we use iOS and all its potential we can never stop taking advantage of it, because then we would lack something.
One of those functions is “In Family”. With this, we can create a family group to share all purchases on iTunes, iBooks and App Store with all family members (maximum 6) and it will not be necessary to share accounts. You’ll be able to pay with a card for the whole family’s purchases or approve a purchase your kids want to make from the iPad (example). Plus, you’ll be able to share your photos, family calendar, and more.
Creating the family group
It is necessary that the one who creates the group is of age. That being the case, this “head of the family” can take his iPhone, iPad or Mac and get started. Once it has been set up, will ask you to confirm that you will agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you are going to invite and that you have a valid payment method.
To configure it from iOS go to Settings> [Your name], if you use an older iOS version, instead of your name it will say “iCloud”. Then go to “Family” and click on continue. After that, we just have to confirm that we are the organizer and follow some simple on-screen instructions .
Doing it in macOS is very simple, go to System Preferences and then place it in iCloud. Next, go to Configure Family and follow the simple instructions .
After doing this we will have set up our family, but how can it be a family if there is no family inside? Here’s how to invite family members.
Invite your family
To do this we just need the Apple ID of your family members , in case they don’t have an ID we can create one and add them to the group.
To invite from iOS go to Settings, click on your name and family. Then we just give you Add family member and enter the Apple ID (email) of the family member we want to add. It’s as simple as that.
To do this in macOS, as well as to create the group, go to System Preferences and iCloud. Click on Manage Family and the “+” button .
If we want to accept the invitation, we go to the same address as for creating the group (Settings> Your name in iOS, System Preferences> iCloud in macOS). Click on Invitations and decide what to do with it . You will be asked to confirm your Apple ID and password and what data to share.
