A couple of days ago Apple released iOS version 6.0.2 to fix the problems that had arisen with the WiFi connection on iPhone 5 and iPad mini. This update is the first one released by Apple and it is not compatible with all iOS devices in the company, a bit strange way of operating, considering what we are used to.
iOS 6.0.2 is negatively affecting the battery consumption of iPhone 5 and iPad mini
Still, the update was released and users with an iPhone 5 or an iPad mini (or both) rushed to install this update that promised to put an end to WiFi network connectivity issues. The connection issues were indeed fixed, but in some cases the update generated a new problem.
Apple’s support forums are receiving numerous complaints from users who claim that after installing iOS 6.0.2 on their devices, battery life has been dramatically reduced. Many users claim that the battery life of their devices has dropped so low that it is now impossible for the device’s battery to last a full day without being recharged.
It seems that there are indications that the problem that is generating this excessive battery consumption is exactly the same as the one the iOS update was trying to solve : the device’s WiFi connection.
At the moment Apple has not pronounced itself and we do not know if they are already looking for a solution to the problem or on the contrary the solution will take some time yet.
Do you have any iOS 6.0.2 compatible devices? Have you encountered any such problems?
