It’s only been two months since Apple released iOS 4.1 and although time has flown by we already have another major system update for Apple’s mobile devices, iOS 4.2 will be officially released today throughout the afternoon .
And although the final version has been available to developers for a few days (in addition to being able to be installed by anyone), it was not until today that Apple officially announced, through a press release, that the firmware would be available to other users.
The new version of iOS is not a great update for the iPhone and iPod touch, but it is for the iPad. With this new version, the iPad catches up with the rest of the devices and it is expected that from this moment on, all three computers will advance in operating system version at the same time. In addition to multitasking, the most interesting features of this version are AirPlay and AirPrint.
Another confirmed improvement is that the Find My iPhone feature is now free for all users and no longer requires a paid MobileMe account to use.
Thank you to all those who warned us!
