When we’re on a different computer than the one we usually log into Instagram from, the application will send us a verification code in a text message that we’ll need to add when we log in to that new device. Instagram says that these updates will help the application move towards ” promoting a safer and friendlier community among its users “.

According to the developers themselves, their mission and short-term task is to transform Instagram into a friendlier and more welcoming place for all its users .
