The new MacBook Pro with retinal display is lighter, more powerful, and thinner; but the engineering effort required to achieve these improvements has its consequences. The guys at iFixit always prove it by taking the computer apart and checking the same trend as always: the reparability is practically zero .

Among the most important changes to the internal composition is a change in the battery layout on the 13-inch model, which inherits its big brother’s technique of sticking directly to the case and moving away from the trackpad. This new model also has only one fan instead of two .

The 15-inch model is the one that has changed the least, except for the internal components that Phil Schiller told us about in the keynote. But in both cases, it is not recommended at all to repair it with the tools you have at home . First because you lose the Apple warranty, and second because it is tremendously complicated. Opinions aside, this is the path Apple is taking with increasing clarity.
