The first thing you have to do is download the Lirum Device Info Lite application with iTunes , which curiously disappeared from the App Store for a few hours. Then open the application, click on Menu and look for the model reference on the main page, the so-called Hardware Model.
This is where you can find out who makes the A9 chip in your iPhone 6s. If the part number is N66AP or N71AP, Samsung manufactured it, while if the part number is N66MAP or N71MAP, the manufacturer is TSMC .
Another way to find out who made the A9 chip on your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus is to download the iMazing application to a computer running Windows XP or higher or a Mac running OS X 10.7 or higher . It should be noted that you will not find this application on the Mac App Store, but it is signed by the developer.
Once you have it installed and open, just connect your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus to your computer, unlock it and accept in case it asks you if you want to trust this equipment. Select your iPhone and click on “Get Info” , an option you will find in the lower right corner.
Here you have to look at the Hardware Model . The references will be exactly the same as the ones above: N66AP or N71AP for Samsung and N66MAP or N71MAP for TSMC.
In theory the Samsung A9 chip makes the iPhone 6s perform somewhat less and the battery lasts about two hours less than if you use the chip manufactured by TSMC. But as we said before, this theory has yet to be confirmed.
