If you’re a user of multiple Apple devices, you’ve probably faced this on more than one occasion. It turns out that by default, when we have a Mac and an iPhone, or an iPad and an iPhone, or all 3 (and even 4 if we have an Apple Watch), every time we receive a call on our iPhone and the others are nearby, they all start ringing in unison , and even continue to ring for a few more seconds once we take the call, which is very annoying.

To fix this there is a simple toogle on our devices, a slider that is responsible for disabling that every time we receive a call this is multiplied in each and every one of our devices , and end up going crazy every time we call. If you’re a caller who uses this feature, you can also limit which devices ring , so you don’t have your iPad, Mac and iPhone ringing at the same time.

Join me for this tutorial to learn how to manage this annoying feature and not go crazy every time you get a call.

Stop your iPad and Mac from ringing every time you get a call on your iPhone

As we said, there’s a slider button that will make your calls ring only on the iPhone when you have the other devices nearby. Simply turn it off and the other devices will stop ringing and receiving the call, and they will be seen only on the iPhone. Follow these steps to do so:

  • 1º- Open “Settings” on your device.
  • 2º- Go to the option “Telephone”.
  • 3º- Select “Calls on other devices”.
  • 4º- Slide the button of the first option where it indicates “Allow in other devices”.

As you can see the process is very similar to that of the iPhone.

In the same way that you can disable call input from both the iPad and the Mac, we can also filter for devices that we want to sound or not from the iPhone . We simply have to slide the button corresponding to each of the devices associated with our account.

For this, starting from the menu in which we were when we disabled calls on other devices from the iPhone, leaving this option enabled, below we will find a list with the rest of devices associated with our Apple ID. Each one has a slider button, just check the ones you want to sound and the ones you don’t leave unchecked . This way you can more easily organize which device you want to play or not in case it is convenient for you to play one or the other.

Apple’s ecosystem is designed to function as one in many ways and the basis for this is the seamless continuity between its devices, although this may sometimes be impractical . For these circumstances you now know how to solve at least one of the most annoying functions.
