Virtual pets have a certain appeal. I honestly don’t see it but just look at how POU has long been the most downloaded paid app on the App Store. Fortunately there is now Oceanhorn which I think deserves more of the spot. Regardless of all this, today we are launching Hatch, a new virtual mascot developed by Impending and RealMac.
Hatch is that, a virtual pet that we will have living on our iOS device. With the same care as similar applications, remember the tamagotchi, you will have to feed it and keep it in good health. Also, as the developers say, we can give the minimum care to our Fugu, that is the name of the pet, but if we give an extra love and attention we will be grateful.
In the video we see some examples where our Fugu eats, rests, licks the screen to show how happy he is or follows the rhythm of our music. Because if something characterizes Hatch is that the application not only responds to the gestures and actions we make on the screen of our device, but also to the various sensors of the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as well as to the battery level. After all night, he will wake up rested and as the device’s battery runs out, so will he.
Hatch is certainly a very particular game. It will certainly have its audience but all that calls me is its graphics and design. Colorful sets and a very tender touch that will make children and not so children love their Fugu.
