The Google IO 2014 developers’ conference could bring many surprises
The main companies in the sector are moving their files and all of them want to continue competing in the tablet market, so it is normal that every year we see the launch of new products that try to attract the attention of users. We have already seen how Samsung has presented its new Galaxy Tab S, showing the world its intention to become the new “king” of the sector, waiting to see what Apple’s next move will be with its new iPad Air. And now it’s Google’s turn.
The Google IO 2014 Developers Conference will take place next Wednesday , where new Android products will probably be announced, as well as the new software to come. One of the products that is in the pools to be presented is the Nexus 9 .
Andriod Police has been able to get the scoop on the device that could be known as “Volantis” and would be manufactured by HTC . As we can see from the pictures, as the specifications say, the device is quite thin with only 0.79 cm thickness. It will be made of aluminum and will weigh 418 grams.
Characteristics and technical specifications of the possible Nexus 9
At the moment these are the known characteristics of what could be the next Nexus 9 or HTC Volantis :
- 8.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1440 pixels (281 ppi)
- NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit processor
- 2 GB RAM.
- Capacity of 16 or 32GB of internal memory
- 8-megapixel OIS main camera with flash and 3-megapixel front
- Aluminium body.
- Stereo front speakers.
- Measures 22,63 x 15,19 x 0,79 cm.
- Weight of 418 grams for WiFi models and 427 grams for models with LTE
Although some say that the new Google device could be unveiled during the Google IO event, other rumors point out that the Nexus 9 would not be on sale until the end of the year and therefore would not be unveiled during the company’s next event. In addition, the new Nexus 9 or HTC Volantis would be accompanied by the Android 5.0 operating system
The information also reflects the price of the device, $399 for the 16GB model, $499 for the 32GB model and $600 for the model with LTE connectivity . These prices are quite interesting and would be between the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10.
At the moment, no more details are known about the new tablet, nor is there any official news about it, so as they say in Neowin we have to wait until the day of the conference to see if the rumors are finally confirmed.
