Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, it’s time to start looking at sales in the smartphone industry. New data revealed by Localytics shows that, surprisingly, the Google Pixel has overtaken the iPhone 7 as the most popular purchase last weekend.
As indicated by the analyses of the Black Friday of Localytics the Google Pixel reached a 112 % of sales in relation to its previous data. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 saw its sales grow by 36 % . The iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 2 saw their sales increase by 24 % and 19 % respectively. And finally, the iPhone 7 increased its sales by 13 % .
The Google Pixel smartphone has surpassed the sales of the iPhone 7 during Black Friday, yes, but why? We tell you below.
Apple’s “special” offers for Black Friday
There are several facts to keep in mind about Google Pixel’s victory over iPhone 7. First of all, it is worth mentioning that Google’s smartphone had a certain advantage since it was introduced later than iPhone 7. But, in addition, its price is much more affordable and this encourages much more Black Friday buyers who are looking for the most interesting offers.
One of the main reasons is the excellent offers of Google Pixel, much better than those of Apple without a doubt. In fact, Cupertino’s company did not offer any promotional offers for the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus . It only offered 50 euro gift cards for the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus and a few other devices.
Google Pixel: the absolute winner of Black Friday
Obviously, Google Pixel has not sold more units than Apple’s iPhone 7 in total . But this Black Friday victory over Apple puts the Google smartphone a little closer to the company’s terminal of the bite apple.
Localytics also wanted to share a statistical graph showing a comparison of iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 sales during Black Friday in 2015 and 2016, respectively. And the results are absolutely stunning!
Be that as it may, we have to admit that Google Pixel is making a lot of noise. It has a lot of merit that Google’s new smartphone has surpassed the sales of Apple and Samsung , even if only for a weekend. But the coolest thing of all is that Google’s bet could completely change the mobile landscape of the smartphone industry in the next few years.
