Google Drive will allow you to back up your PC

There is no doubt that storage clouds have gradually become an essential part of our devices. The service they provide is truly essential for many, as they allow us to safely and easily store all our photos, files and documents so that they don’t take up space on our phones or computers. One of the most popular online storage clients is Google Drive, which has recently shown that it does not want to be left behind by its main competitors and has announced a new tool for backing up our PC, the so-called Backup and Sync from Google.

Google Drive is, along with Dropbox, one of the best tools for backing up.

Google has given as official date of presentation of this new tool on June 28th, and users who, like me, need to be constantly backing up their personal files, documents and photos in the cloud, are waiting anxiously for it to reach our computers. Backup and Sync from Google is the latest version of Google Drive for Mac/PC.

Drive offers us synchronization on all our devices.

While until now we could back up almost everything we had on our computer with tools like Dropbox or OneDrive, these two giants of online storage are now joined by Google Drive, although from Google still recommend the Google Drive for PC/Mac tool for all those users who work with G Suite, and urge to do this until the Drive File Stream utility is available for these users.

How much do I have to pay to enjoy the service?

The Google service has different storage offerings. The 15 GB they offer for free to all their users are still there and you can still use them, but here are some other offers that might interest you because maybe, and it’s very likely that you will, that storage will become too small:

  • An additional 100 GB for 1.99 euros per month.
  • 1 additional TB for EUR 9,99 per month
  • 10 TB for EUR 99,99 per month.
  • 20 TB for EUR 199,99 per month.
  • 30 TB for EUR 299,99 per month.

They may seem very high prices at first sight, but whoever has 20000 gigabytes of files, photos or documents on their computer and wants to keep them and give them a secure and guaranteed backup, will see that is one of the most comfortable ways to have their data always at hand and, most importantly, without taking up a single gigabyte of their PC’s memory.

When Backup and Sync arrives, we will be able to back up the content of our computers in a very simple way and directly from the desktop. To me it seems something that was clearly necessary, the fact of being able to save in the cloud everything that interests us from our computer and be able to access it from any other device.

What do you think of this new tool? Do you think you will use it and that it will be useful to you? Leave us your opinion in the comments.
