Google announces Android Pie, a rival to iOS 12?

After five months of trial versions, finally, the official version of Android Pie is here . A few weeks before the iOS 12 final comes out on the iPhone and iPad. Google has worked hard on this new update to make Android better than ever, but will it live up to iOS?

Android Pie is here, does iOS have something to fear?

Although every operating system has its pros and cons, Android, in general, has always had it harder. Adapting to hundreds of smartphones with thousands of different hardware combinations is complicated . Therefore, getting to provide the performance and experience that iOS offers is very, very complicated.

In Android Pie, the version 9.0 of the Google system, the strong point is the artificial intelligence (AI) . Manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Huawei invest a lot in advertising this technology, especially in the photographic section.

As explained by Sameer Samat, Vice President of Product Management, Android and Google Play, Android Pie 9.0 will make phones smarter and more user-friendly . This version has been developed so that you can learn from us and know what we want to do at all times. Something that Apple has also wanted to transfer to iOS 12.

Android Foot Features

Smart Battery and Brightness

The basis of Android Pie is artificial intelligence . So, by learning the way we use our mobile phone, you will know how to act at all times.

It is capable of prioritizing battery consumption in the apps we use the most, reducing consumption by up to 30% for CPU and background applications.

The same goes for the screen brightness , which depending on the use will know how to adapt it to make us feel more comfortable.

App Actions

Can you imagine doing things faster because your phone knows what you need? That’s the pretext for App Actions, a function that will predict what we want to do by showing various actions on the screen.

Think it’s Tuesday and you’re getting ready to go to work. The phone will suggest some actions such as starting the Google Maps browser or picking up the audiobook where you left it in Google Books. And after work, you’ll put on your headset and see options such as calling your mum or playing your favourite Spotify list.

Slices

Slices, which will be available throughout the autumn, will display relevant information from our favourite apps . For example, when you enter the word of a transport service like Uber in the search engine, some data will appear such as fares or the action of requesting a ride from home to work.

New gesture navigation system

Until now, Android has been characterized by a three-button navigation system , which included the Home button, the Back button and the menu. At least, in the purest versions of the system.

However, in Android Pie will change this to a single button . Google claims that this is a positive development, as phones grow in height and it is increasingly difficult to operate them with one hand. This is where the new one-button touch gestures come in.
