As we have often mentioned, those products of the Californian firm that have been on the market for years, are usually obsolete when the market is renewed. As this happens, Cupertino’s products stop supporting that product, and that’s when it goes to a better life, or rather to Apple’s list of obsolete devices.
That is why in the last update of the list, it has been added to the more than known second generation Apple TV . It should be noted that in countries such as the United States or Turkey, this product is called vintage, as it has a lifetime of 5 to 7 years, so it is still supported.
If you own a second-generation Apple TV, you’ll need to take extra care of it because will no longer be supported by Apple technical support . However, there are always other alternatives, such as using third-party repair services.
For those who did not know this Apple marvel, it was a device launched in 2010 and it had a A4 processor , the same one used by the famous iPhone 4. As expected, the maximum resolution was 720p . Today this is a low resolution, but 7 years ago it was more than fantastic.
Due to the high technological evolution of this sector during those years, Apple soon launched its successor, the third generation Apple TV . With an improved chip, it was able to reproduce in maximum resolution (1080p) . This was the reason why many users decided to renew the latter.
From my point of view, it’s a little difficult to find any second generation Apple TV owners today. If someone still has one, it’s probably the right time to renew your little Apple .
Did you own an Apple TV 2? What do you think of the list of obsolete products?
