Apple is starting to realize what they announced at MacWorld in January, the arrival of the movie and series rental service on the iTunes Store .
If the United Kingdom has had this privilege for a long time, now Germany joins the European countries that have access to the service, in fact it is the second European country and fourth in the world where it is possible to rent series via iTunes. Thus, Germans will have at their disposal series from the country’s native channels such as ProSieben, Sat.1, RTL or ZDF (the quality of these channels is beyond all doubt); in addition to some American series, such as Lost, in the original version .
The price of this service ranges between 1.99 and 2.49 euros per title which is not particularly cheap. It remains to be seen whether in a market with trends that in my opinion are quite conservative like the German one, this initiative will succeed.
To conclude, the question we must ask ourselves is how long will it be before this service arrives in Spain? When will we be able to buy series such as “Los hombres de Paco”, “Cuestión de Sexo” or the future adaptation of the British “Life on Mars” ? Hopefully soon, I think there are many people interested in having access to this new form of online rental.
And what will surely arouse even more interest will be the movie service, if it is not yet available, when we can watch our favorite movie in high quality if we want and comfortably on our Mac, on our Apple TV and on our iPod, I think there will be a good number of people who will use it and help it grow. Do you think the same as me? When this service arrives to our lands, will you become users? More and better in the comments.
