In this article we bring you a new rumor, this time something totally different from the usual: the function area. A space dedicated to facilitate the access to certain functions inside the phone.
The function area, a great idea
Rumors about Apple’s next iPhone keep adding up day after day. There’s everything from the most credible to the somewhat improbable, at least for the time being.
On this occasion, the prototype, documented with iPhone renders, comes from the hand of iDropnews and is, without a doubt, one of the rumors that, personally, I would most like to see come true when we see the presentation of Cupertino’s phone .
In this case, they would mix the rumble of the screen adapted to the entire front of the iPhone, using a small part of it – specifically the bottom part – to perform certain functions.
The well-known KGI analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo already predicted something similar a few months ago, as he talked about a 5.8 inch screen of which 5.15 inches would be really useful, and the addition of virtual buttons.
What will this new functionality lead to?
That’s how good the iPhone 8 would look
This possible option is really interesting, as it could mean easier access to certain functions. In these renders , very well elaborated, by the way, you can see some examples of such functionalities.
Apparently, would be a kind of Touch Bar like the one in the new MacBook Pro 2016. The technology is already in place, so now all we need to do is implement it.
Analysis of these functions
iDropnews Function Area Renders
In the first image you can see a Touch ID which, once you have seen the other examples, you can see that is not a physical button, but it is virtual so to speak.
In the following image we can see what seems to be an outgoing call in which we would have the controls to call and hang up directly at the bottom and not inside the screen, as we are used to.
Then we would have a media center to control our music or Podcast. Very useful. The question would be how it would be activated, if by slide or by making a specific gesture.
Another function would be to place the bar that we currently have at the bottom of Safari in order to control the history, bookmarks, the previous and next page arrows, share menu, access to visited pages… In this case we would not have any difference from what we use today . It would simply be moved.
And finally, and this does remind us a lot of the Touch Bar, to be able to have certain functionalities depending on which applications, but above all it would go focused on photo or video retouching functions .
Would you like iPhone 8 to have this useful feature implemented? We look forward to your feedback.
