Fitness Center, a patent for a possible new Apple sports application

Due to the captures and information we can read in the patent, the application would offer a whole range of possibilities : data collection and statistics on our trainings, explanations for beginners on how to perform the exercises correctly, etc… but the most interesting thing is the possibility it would offer to partner centers and gyms by providing interaction.

Thanks to the joint collaboration, a sports center or gym could offer information about class schedules, databases of other users to interact with, promotions, etc… making the user not lose interest and remain an active member. Even, thanks to geolocation (yes, that much discussed topic lately), to put in contact users close to them so that they can be training partners , provided that this option is authorized.

We all know Nike+ or Runkeeper, iOS applications that allow us to keep track of our workouts as well as to support them with other users. The possible future new application developed by Apple, and apparently advised by Nike, would try to do the same as these improving (if possible) some aspects. And one of them would be the interaction with other users as a social network. Who is not more motivated when seeing the progress of the partner? We will see if it is confirmed and sees the light soon.
