Today many users make use of the versatile GoPro camera, a sports camera that can be adapted to any situation. Our colleagues at Motorpasión use it a lot in their tests. The problem is that sometimes the fisheye effect becomes too pronounced and can create a strange feeling when viewing the video. To solve this problem we can use Fisheye Fixer from CrumblePop, a plugin for Final Cut Pro X .
The plugin gives us the option to correct the distortion created by a wide-angle or fisheye lens . The operation is simple, we drag the effect over the clip we want to apply it to, we select the type of angle and the number of distortion to correct. The result? a more real plane without that effect that can be annoying many times. The only thing we have to take into account is the cropping factor that will affect the image when making the correction according to the distortion, thus losing more or less information at the edges.
Also on the Crumblepop website you can find a variety of plugins for Final Cut Pro X and other applications such as FCP7. Or you can also remember several resources we have talked about at Apple, such as Alex4D plugins or the well-known FX Factory package.
