From my experience with bluetooth headsets, I can say that perfect and constant connectivity does not exist. Although some like the AirPods come pretty close. However, all my tests had to do with audio reproduction without any other variable to take into account. Until now. I’ve been testing Noontec’s Hammo TV headphones for several days and this is the first time I’m trying a wireless headset to listen to TV.
This adds a further complication to a bluetooth hearing aid: synchronisation with the dialogues, effects and ambient sound. An element that , if not resolved well , throws any TV headset to the ground. Taking this into account, I can say that Hammo TVs are impeccable. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Simple, direct installation to the television
Hammo TVs need a dock to broadcast the sound back to the headphones. This is why it requires an installation via an audio jack connection . At first I was surprised when I tried to connect it to the fourth generation Apple TV because it doesn’t have this connection (it’s also true that I never needed it before). By the way, the PS4 I have doesn’t have this audio input either.
The truth is that the Hammo TVs are designed to be connected directly to the television through this channel or the typical black and white RCA cables. So you don’t have to worry about switching audio sources when you want to use them with different consoles or set-top boxes.
The Hammo TV’s battery lasts 50 hours, but I still haven’t managed to run it down from the first charge.
It’s a bit overwhelming to open the box the first time and find yourself with so many wires when you’re supposed to be trying to get rid of them. In fact, only three are needed : the power supply for the dock, the audio supply for the TV and the headphone charger. This last one will be used very punctually thanks to its enormous battery life.
The dock has a holder to leave the helmets on top and, if you want, connect the charging cable. It looks pretty good in the living room, although in the end you’ll leave them where you want or it’s more comfortable for you.
Synchronized sound for a one-off experience
Let’s now move on to what really matters about these headphones. Sound and its timing. I’ve been watching several movies and series on the Apple TV over the last few days (ahem, Game of Thrones, because someone has to sacrifice and try them out). At no time have I felt that the sound was more forward or somewhat delayed, as is often the case with some headphones of this type.

You don’t get that “it’s getting pretty close, but I’m sensing it’s a little slow” feeling. It goes perfectly with the dialogue and the ambient sound. It’s a stereo headset, so you can hear some movement in the sound when the right conditions are present in the film or series. And that’s cool, because it creates a much better experience than when you use your TV speakers (unless you have a home cinema system).
And what does one want to listen to a movie with a headset for? In addition to having a better sound experience, Hammo TVs isolate you perfectly and avoid disturbing those around you. Would you like a Song of Ice and Fire marathon ? Watch the latest Star Wars at full volume? Play Jetpack Joyride on your Apple TV in the middle of the night? If you couldn’t do it before because you were bothering someone, these Noontec headsets will mark a before and after in your life.
These headphones “rest” on your ears, in a prolonged use I have not felt any discomfort although we have to adjust them correctly to our head
The connection has a 10 meter radius of action that holds up quite well even behind doors and walls. Probably is because it uses bluetooth 4.1 , although it doesn’t make much sense to put something on the TV and go to another room in the house. But know that if you want to do it, you can.
Hammo TVs are attractively priced for everything they offer. Especially if you’ve ever been looking at headphones like this. If you were looking for something similar, they have a high probability of being just what you need .
