A few hours ago while surfing the web I came across an article from our friends at iSenaCode talking about a recent EverythingApplePro video. A user who has been uploading Apple-related videos to his YouTube channel for many years and who today has more than 4 million subscribers.
In this video he shows a device capable of connecting to our iPhone in order to bypass the unlocking code of it. I’ll leave it here and we’ll talk about it later:
If you have watched carefully the video I left above, you will have seen how it tells us about a device (nothing cheap, about 500 dollars) able to connect to our iPhone and be able to get the 4-digit unlock code with “relative” ease . And relative quotes since it is quite limited and not functional in the new iOS 11 version because Apple has already corrected that security hole that allowed it.
iOS 11 will arrive in September on our iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
In the case of having a 6-digit unlocking code this tool manages to get it out but with enough effort and patience.
The operation of the tool is quite simple in the background. It takes advantage of the fact that in iOS 10 the number of attempts you had to enter your unlock code correctly was removed before it locked you out of the device for a few minutes if you didn’t enter it correctly
Our advice is that until we have iOS 11 among us officially, which we hope will be in just one month, you should put a 6-digit or alphanumeric unlocking code to prevent you from this kind of techniques that after all, are used by many frauds to sell previously stolen devices.
