September, the date indicated for this, is approaching, so the mass production of these devices is also starting now, in order to be able to meet the demand. According to a new report, Samsung will start production of the screens in a few weeks .
As indicated by the Eastern Economic Daily News, Samsung will begin mass production of OLED screens earlier than planned. The idea is to start production in May and double this production in June. What screens? Those of the successor to the 5.8-inch iPhone X and those of a new 6.5-inch model . On the other hand, Apple is also expected to launch a 6.1-inch model with lower specifications and an LCD screen.
As long as we do not depend exclusively on Samsung Display, in the last few months we have seen how Apple has helped LG Display to set up their own factories to manufacture OLED displays. Finally it seems that for the time being they will not start providing OLED displays to Apple , possibly due to lack of experience. However, it is not ruled out that in the future Samsung Display will join in the manufacture of the screens for the iPhone.
Like any other rumour, it has to be taken with a grain of salt, for there is nothing confirmed and everything is based on assumptions and experiences from previous years. However, the fact that Samsung Display will start manufacturing OLED displays a few weeks earlier than expected, could mean that we won’t have any stock problems during the launch .
Last year the iPhone X was introduced in September, but we had to wait until almost November for its release and with stock problems in the first weeks. The main reason for this lack of stock was the difficulty in manufacturing the TrueDepth camera . A problem that seems to be already solved for this year, so we will surely have a normal release of the devices. In other words, presentation in mid-September and market launch in early October.
