Everyone Can Code initiative expands to more countries, including Spain

Design+Code llega a la App Store de iOS para enseñarte a programar y diseñar tus apps

Apple today issued a press release announcing the expansion of its Everyone Can Code initiative to several other countries in Europe, including Spain. This initiative, created about a year ago, introduces a complete programming course on Swift for all universities and institutes that want to include it in their technical teaching.

Originally this initiative has been available only in the United States, but there it has reached half a million students spread over more than 30 institutions . Expansion to the Old Continent has led Apple to introduce iOS application programming to students, thus encouraging the development and release of such applications in the future.

Tim Cook already said that programming is right now as important as knowing a second language, and now he insists that it is “something essential for any worker today” . And of course, emphasis will be placed on new technologies like ARKit that should play a very important role in the future.

The press release does not specify which Spanish institutions will include Everyone Can Code material in their academic programs, but I have no doubt that students will take advantage of it. The initiative will also appear in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland and Portugal. Let us hope that it will not take too long in Latin American countries either.
