The new version 1.5 includes new features that improve the use of the application. Among the new features is the automatic loading of photos and videos from our iOS device to the Dropbox account.

In addition to the above mentioned automatic loading of photos and videos via Wifi connection or by using our data rate we added the possibility of getting more storage capacity, up to 3GB, with new bonuses of 500MB each. In addition we can view the photos and videos with the new Gallery view, move or delete files together and upload files of any size.

There is no doubt that the strong competition that cloud storage services are leading to is benefiting users. Dropbox, one of my favorites if not my favorite, does not want to lose its advantage that practically places it as a leader. That’s why some of the new features make it similar to options available in other services.

For example, automatically uploading photos and videos would work just like iCloud does. This, that for users who can use iCloud will not make much sense if it favors those that Apple, by its decisions, has left out of the possibility of using it. I’m talking about Snow Leopard users.
