Smartphones have become one of the main targets of the video game industry. Because of their power and because almost everyone has one, more and more time and money is being invested in developing smartphone titles. After its presence on the market’s leading game consoles, Dead Cells has made the leap to iOS devices .
Developed by the studio Motion Twins , Dead Cells is a “Metroidvania” style video game (a mix of mechanics from the Metroid and Castlevania sagas) that has garnered great reviews, becoming one of the best titles released in 2018 . With its adaptation for iPhone and iPad, it hopes to repeat the success achieved on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
In Dead Cells we will play as the “Prisoner”, a failed alchemical experiment of a king of a prison who, after several tests, ends up pouring a curse on the island where he is. The island comes to life and the beings that live on it take on terrifying forms. The “Prisoner” is destined to resurrect eternally to explore a constantly changing map.
The iOS version has several new features that are not present in the game console version, such as a revamped interface, two game modes (original and auto-attack), and the ability to customize the touch controls. In addition, it is possible to use MFi certified controllers (Made for iPhone) for a better experience.
The game is now available on the iOS App Store at a price of 8.99 euros . At the moment there is no version for Apple TV and the developer has announced that it will soon be available on Android as well.
