All sources are clear, the keynote on which the iPhone 8 will be presented will be next Tuesday, September 12th during its annual fall event (although it’s still summer, actually). Although Apple has not yet sent out the invitations and accreditations that would officially confirm the date, it’s an open secret. So assuming that’s the date of the presentation, here are all the dates you need to know.
Apple is a firm of habits: it presents its iPhone every September during the first weeks and from that moment on it starts a calendar that allows us to predict the rest of the dates related to the iPhone .
-Following Apple’s modus operandi, would send out the invitations and press accreditations just one week before the event , i.e. on September 5th.
- After the keynote on September 12th, you can pre-book your iPhone on September 15th at midnight.
- The final version of iOS 11 will be released for supported devices (iPhones, iPads and iPod touch) on Wednesday, September 20th, approximately one week after the keynote, where we will be able to watch different demos.
- On September 22nd, the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and in theory the iPhone 8 should be available in stores for purchase, or to pick up if you have booked in advance.
Since Mashable it is believed that only the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will be available in September , i.e. the iPhone 8 will be officially presented in the keynote, but sales will start somewhat later. Some sources point out that Apple will have a limited number of iPhone 8s in stock and will take advantage of the hype to accelerate the sales of its iPhone 7s.
However, many of us think that Apple will follow the established procedure and will put the iPhone 8 on sale together with the rest of the terminals, although it could happen as with the AirPods, which you could reserve and buy but the shipment was delayed from 4 to 6 weeks , a possibility that has quite a few ballots to be fulfilled.
