To connect the PlayStation 4 controller to the Apple TV , the DUALSHOCK 4 must be switched off at the beginning of this process so that the link can be established correctly.

  1. Turn on the Apple TV.
  2. Press and hold the PS and Share buttons at the same time. The lights on the controller should start flashing.
  3. On Apple TV go to Settings , Blueetoth.
  4. Search and select DUALSHOCK 4 to establish the link between the remote and the Apple TV.

Once this is done, you will see an indicator appear on the screen to inform you that the PS4 controller has been connected correctly. If that link is suddenly lost or a failed connection is reported, you should keep the PS button pressed until it connects. If it doesn’t work, you will have to perform the process explained above again.

Now, to connect the Xbox One controller to the Apple TV , there is also a similar process. As with the previous one, the controller must be turned off at the start of the process.

  1. Turn on the Apple TV.
  2. Turn on the Xbox Wireless from the Power button and press and hold the Connect button for several seconds.

As in the previous case, an indicator will appear informing that the link has been established correctly. In case of a connection failure, you will have to perform the linking process again.

Please note that both Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K allow only two controllers to be connected simultaneously, so you cannot connect three or more controllers. In the event that you are unable to connect any controllers, this may be the problem, and the device may be trying to connect multiple controllers automatically even though that was not your intention. Turn off the controllers you are not going to use and there should be no problem.
