The head of Inclusion and Diversity , Christie Smith, will leave Apple , as reported by Bloomberg, without a designated successor. The position reporting to Senior Vice President, Retail and People , Deirdre O’Brien, remains, at least for now, empty.

Smith’s departure from the post has been planned for about two months, but it has not been until now that we know that yesterday was his last day at the post . Apple, through an email confirming the news to Bloomberg, expresses itself in these terms:

Prior to her position at Apple, Christie Smith had worked at Deloitte for over 17 years as Director of Client Consulting. Smith has been in charge of this team for just under 3 years, a position she inherited from Denise Young Smith , who left the position after six months in the position and after apologizing for some controversial comments about Apple’s executive team.
