Christopher Stringer, an iconic Apple designer, leaves the company

The InformationEn Apple
Christopher Stringer is one of Apple’s longest-serving employees. After 21 years in the company and being part of the design team, he has decided to leave the company. Christopher Stringer has worked with Jony Ive for many years, and was actually involved in the design of the first iPhone .

It’s hard to know what Stringer’s future is now that he’s left Apple, even though he’s leaving his mark. In addition to his involvement in the design of numerous products, he has been a key witness in, for example, the court war against Samsung and the copying of their product design.

Besides Christopher Stringer, Apple has recently lost Daniel Coster , another key designer who went to GoPro last year. Is there a talent drain here? It’s hard to predict at this point, as it’s a different case than Apple vs. Tesla in engineering recruitment. A designer somehow adapts and brings ideas to a team, but the engineer brings basic and unique knowledge to solving a problem.

If there’s one department at Apple that’s certainly secret, it’s the design department. Therefore, it is complicated to know what Stringer’s role was within the company. In any case, under the orders of Jony Ive, who took over the design department in 2015.
