In the poster you see in the image above, that hypothetical iPhone “6c” is mentioned in the last column on the right, second row (the source has marked it in a red box). The operator calls it “7c” , but it’s very unlikely that it will end up having that name unless Cupertino is plotting a major change of plans.
This “iPhone 6c” would have a metal case and not a plastic one, as was the case with the iPhone 5c
This iPhone would have the same A9 processor as the current iPhone 6s, but with the measurements of the iPhone 5S for those who miss its comfort. Its case would be made of metal , so we wouldn’t see a plastic version like the iPhone 5c. In fact, the specifications suggest that we would not be looking at a “reduced” version of the iPhone, but a fully capable but smaller iPhone 6s.
The information also fits in with what we heard earlier this month: this iPhone would be presented at a March 2016 event that Apple would hold for the press. And along with that new phone, we could see the presentation of the second generation Apple Watch.
What is not clear about all this is whether we are dealing with an Apple that wants to recover the four inches as a comfortable size to use their smartphone for everyone or if it wants to repeat the strategy of the iPhone 5c : to launch a slightly cheaper iPhone for those who don’t want to spend the money that the top-of-the-range models cost and don’t need so much power.
In addition, it should be taken into account whether this iPhone is intended exclusively for certain markets such as China or India, where the company has not stopped lowering prices of its best-selling terminals in order to compete on terms and attract the attention of consumers. As always, we have to wait and see what happens in a few months.
