Broadcom will provide Apple with wireless modules for the next three years under a new agreement

Broadcom is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wireless chips . Based in the United States, it became known a few weeks ago that the company was looking for a buyer for the radio frequency module division, in which they are leaders.

However, Broadcom has just reached a new agreement with Apple to provide them with components over the next few years, until 2023 . According to Bloomberg, the two firms have reached two multi-year agreements “to provide a wide variety of high-performance wireless components and modules for use in Apple’s products.

Qualcomm is another Apple partner in the modem industry

If these new agreements are added to the one already reached by the two companies in 2019 , the three agreements could generate around $15 billion in future revenues. As the media indicates, having Apple as one of the main clients could motivate potential buyers to close a deal for the acquisition of this division.

While Apple also has a loyal partner in Qualcomm , which will provide 5G-compatible modems for the upcoming iPhone, Apple is developing its own modems so that it does not have to rely on third parties and has greater control over its device components.
