Sorrentino was in charge of the four design divisions of Wired , so to leave that position he must have achieved a high position within Cupertino’s offices. Having experience in all the creative aspects of Wired, it’s difficult to try and figure out exactly what he’s going to do.

As long as Apple or Sorrentino himself does not officially confirm the transfer, we can only try to deduce . Perhaps, and only perhaps, Sorrentino will move on to work with the marketing team given his experience with video production. Or maybe it’s an attempt by Apple to bring some fresh air to the company’s design team, nothing more.

The chances are that we won’t notice this hiring too much, although you never know. We’ll wait to see if Apple updates its leadership profiles on the official website for the press, which is usually the best indicator of major changes in its leadership.
