Discreetly and without as many spotlights as the streaming music service Apple Music, the free radio station Beats 1 is still aiming to become very big due to new signings and announcements that put it in a very important place in terms of live broadcast radio stations.
Today, a few days after the arrival of Apple Music, the service that will host the station, the new presenters that are joining the DJ staff have been announced. Likewise, we already know when the transmissions will start, who will be the first interviewee and part of the strategy to build a radio station with classic features, but in the midst of the Internet and social networks.
Today, thanks to an interview with Zane Lowe, the head of Beats 1, we know that the station will have programs hosted by personalities such as Pharrell Williams, who, by the way, will have an exclusive song for Apple Music, Josh Homme of the Queens of the Stone Age, the British electronic music duo Disclosure, actor Jaden Smith and independent singer St. Vincent.
But also Dr. Dre joins the project with a program called “The Pharmacy”, as well as the great Elton John who in his program “Elton John’s Rocket Hour” will present an hour of classics. The whole station will be designed under a scheme of programs in blocks of one and up to two hours , where we will find from the classic formats of presentation of music, to interviews, news, specials and much more.
On the other hand, it has been confirmed that during Zane Lowe’s first program the first interviewee will be Eminem. The station will start broadcasting next Tuesday, June 30th at 8 a.m. in Los Angeles California , that is, 10 a.m. in Mexico and 5 p.m. in Spain.
One of the important points that Beats 1 will have will be the interaction through social networks , with content that will complement the experience to what we listen from our devices, come on, something similar to what happens today in any radio station, only that here we are before an international presence through the reach that Apple has.
Remember that to listen to Beats 1 you don’t need a subscription to Apple Music , and you can do it through the Music app in iOS 8.4 or in iTunes 12.2 for Mac OS X. For Windows users it will also be through an update to iTunes that will arrive soon, while for Android it will be through an app that will also arrive soon.
