During the Mobile World Congress that starts today in Barcelona we have been able to see all kinds of accessories, but we always have those that stand out just by looking at them. This is what has happened to me with the Zero 1 from Avantgarde Acoustic , a set of loudspeakers more than one meter high each that can be connected to iOS devices.
When you bump into them, the first feeling you get is that someone has taken the typical desktop speakers and made them too big. The design is very simple, but each of these speakers weighs forty kilos and communicate via radio waves.
Even your remote control, a metal tube with a certain weight and sturdy buttons, can be mistaken for an iPhone speakerphone. An audio transmitter must be attached to the iPhone or iPad to ensure maximum sound quality (we’re talking about speakers for true “audiophiles”), and the cheapest model costs a whopping 10,000 euros . It seems to me that we had never published such an expensive accessory at Apple… although we would have to see if cars with iOS in the Car count as an accessory.
