How about a new Apple product for this Christmas ? It’s not the iPad, nor the iPhone, nor the iPod Touch. Nor is it one of their fantastic desktop or laptop computers. This time we’re going to talk about the apple TV, an old acquaintance but one that never really comes to fruition.

Indeed, the device known as iTV could see the light at the end of this year. Can you imagine how successful it would be for the Christmas campaign ? It would all depend on what it offered and at what price, of course.

The information comes from Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, who claims that Apple’s high-definition television is in full production in Asian factories . This new device will be called iTV and will offer not only hardware, but also content.

To do so, Apple would have partnered with telecom operators such as Verizon, AT&T and Comcast. In principle, content would be secured for users within the United States s, but not outside that territory.

According to the consulting firm, sales of this smart television will reach 2 million units in early 2013, with an average price of $1250 per device . A rather luxurious price for what can be found in the television market.

We also know some of the manufacturers that will supply the parts to Apple . These are the Asian companies Sharp and Hon Hai, with whom the apple company has already worked on other occasions.

Personally, I think is too expensive for a television , so it seems like a luxury product with which Apple wants to differentiate itself from the competition, offering quality content.
