MacRumors En Apple
The Mobile World Congress is one of the most important technology events worldwide. Not in vain, because is the largest fair for mobiles that is held throughout the world , and we have it in Barcelona every February. This year, after almost a decade, Apple will attend as an “exhibitor”, as do almost all the brands of telephony.
For years, Apple has put aside the idea of attending trade shows to present its products and do some advertising. In contrast to this, we see how it celebrates different keynotes throughout the year in which the company’s new products are shown exclusively. Thus, the MWC is the first event in many years that Apple attends, and it is also the first time it does so at this fair .
Everything seems to indicate that what Apple is really going to show is part of its App Planet program , and it will do it in the stand they have rented within the fair for the days that the event lasts. App Planet is described as an “area that focuses on the latest technology for the rapid development of the app industry”. So it would not be surprising if Apple uses this event to promote the App Store.
In the past, Apple regularly attended technology events such as the NAB Show, Macworld and Apple Expo in Paris, as well as the CES in Las Vegas. But it has been almost a decade since the last time it did so. As the company itself says, these events have very little influence on consumers for them.
Be that as it may, of course it is curious to see how Apple is getting back into this world and opening up more to the public. Something we can see with small details like this. So next February don’t expect to see a new iPhone at the MWC, but do expect to see the presence of the bitten apple in one way or another.
