The Scandinavian countries are one of these areas, as all their inhabitants have to travel to a single store in Sweden’s Taby Centrum shopping centre. But that may change in the medium term.
The Swedish newspaper Expressen recently reported on the arrival of an Apple Store in the centre of Stockholm , the country’s capital. It would look like New York’s Fifth Avenue and would open within two years after encountering certain difficulties in negotiating with the city authorities.
Angela Ahrendts has personally travelled to Stockholm to assist in the negotiations
These difficulties have led Angela Ahrendts to travel personally to the capital of Sweden to convince the city’s politicians of the advantages that an Apple Store in a privileged part of the city could offer. This is what the executive at Expressen said:
What little is known about what the Apple Store might look like already identifies enough of the brand’s styles: the store would open near Harbour Street on the north side of King’s Garden . This is an area where concerts and conferences are usually held, and where you simply want to stroll around.
The front of the shop would be made entirely of glass, would have the shape of an amphitheatre and would be surrounded by tables and chairs of places where one could have a drink. Of course, everything would be powered by 100% clean and renewable energy . At the moment there is a TGI Friday’s in the place where Apple has his eye on, so we will have to keep negotiating.
