Like almost any electronic device today, the AirPods Pro also have software that can be updated. Yesterday, Apple released the 2D15 firmware update for the AirPods Pro . Users of these headphones will now see their software version change.
The AirPods Pro debuted with version 2B588 in late 2019. In December, Apple released a firmware update called 2C54 which it later withdrew after detecting some issues. Now, with the 2D15 firmware version , the AirPods Pro can already download an update.
The software update process for AirPods Pro is not easy. There is no button within a set of settings that allows you to do this directly. Instead, the only thing you can do is the following :
- Take out an earphone and close the case lid.
- On the iPhone, go to Settings , General , Information , AirPods Pro .
- There we will see the version of the firmware they have, the new one is 2D15.
If you don’t have this version yet, you should return the headset to the case and charge it. Leaving the iPhone close by while charging will cause the firmware to update, although it will take a few minutes to do so. To check if it has been updated, simply repeat the steps above.
At Apple, latency has improved with AirPods Pro, according to one developer
At this time, normal AirPods have not received any new firmware. It is possible that this is a specific software for these headsets and that it focuses on modifying some aspect of the noise cancellation.
