One of the most popular apple certifications is the MFi certification. Twelve South
The MFi logo until now showed a rectangle with rounded corners and a text “Made for iPod iPhone iPad” accompanied by the icon of each device. Simple, logical and understandable, but unfortunately it differs from reality. Apple no longer represents its products in this way, even though they are called the same. And the most curious thing of all, the iPhone icon no longer has a Home button , but a notch.
To adapt this badge to the current Apple trend, the three icons have been removed from the badge devices. Instead Apple places a bitten apple before the product name . We first saw this way of naming products with the Apple Watch, which was represented by the bitten apple and the word Watch next to it. Other products where this is currently used for example in Apple Music, with the apple and the word Music next to it. Exactly the same with Apple Podcasts, which almost a year ago left the iTunes brand behind.
According to the ChargerLab, manufacturers have 90 days to start applying this new badge to products they launch or leave their factories. For you as a user there are no changes apart from a new sticker on the accessory box, the product will remain the same and the requirements for MFi certification will remain the same. However, it is still curious how the Apple brand and all the products it generates around it are being adapted.
