Good iPhone and Mac sales help Apple make $8.5 billion profit
Did anyone doubt that Apple would not make a profit after the great reception of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus? It seems that the benefits do not come only from the sale of the new iPhone 6, since Mac computers are also selling very well, even more than last year at this time.
Apple has released its financial report for the fourth quarter of the year, with a figure of $8.5 trillion, which is said to be soon.
iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have started selling very well and Macs have helped
Part of this money comes from the new iPhone 6 , which started out selling over 10 million units in its first weekend alone and setting a new revenue record for Apple. The sale of the new models reports some $42.1 billion in revenue for the company, with 60% of these sales coming from international markets and 39.3 million iPhone 6 sold in the first quarter of the year alone.
iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have arrived on the Chinese market a few days ago, where it seems that the launch has not aroused much commotion among the population and that the reserves of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in China before its launch could exceed 20 million units.
In the case of Mac computers, Apple is pleasantly surprised, as in the first quarter of the year alone they sold more than 5.5 million units. These numbers have been helped by the discounts that Apple launched in August, boosting sales even further and surpassing the 4.9 million Mac units sold last year.
iPad sales don’t go up and iTunes makes a profit
In the case of the iPad, sales are still not up and continue to decline for another quarter. This year, tablet sales amounted to 12.3 million units, but compared to the same period last year, 14.1 million units were sold , with a clear decline. We will see if the new iPad Air 2 and the Mini 3 Apple manage to boost sales of the 9-inch device.
Other revenue for the company comes from iTunes, specifically 22% of total revenue comes from the Apple store and the company has broken another record in sales from its retail stores, with a 15% increase over the previous year and a profit of $5.1 billion.
On top of this, Apple is betting very strongly on Pay , officially launched with the iOS 8.1 update and believes that sales will be even higher in the future thanks to this new feature. As we have known thanks to MacLife.
“We think we will sell more devices because we believe Apple Pay is a crucial feature” said Tim Cook.
Apple is moving money around in a way that makes everyone dizzy, and it seems that the sales of the new iPhone 6, added to the increase in sales of Mac computers, have further boosted its profits in the fourth quarter of the year.
What do you think about all this? Do you think iPad sales will pick up with the new iPad Air 2 and Mini 3?
