Apple is planning to launch a new trade-in program in the United States and Canada this coming week. With this program customers will be able to give away their old Mac in exchange for a gift card that can be applied to the purchase of a new Mac.
The new program, which Bloomberg reports will launch on June 15 in the United States and June 18 in Canada , will allow new customers to hand in an old Mac and get a discount on a future purchase.
Apple has long allowed the trade-in option for the Mac, but until now, unlike other devices such as the iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, it could only be managed online. The convenience of delivering the Mac to an Apple Store and leaving the store with the information transferred to a new one is certainly something that online management slightly hinders.
This program, like many that start only in the United States, will surely expand to Europe and other countries after the initial test, although for now we do not know the possible dates. With these measures Apple seeks to stimulate the sale of computers by facilitating access to new models such as the much talked about iMac that could be announced at the next WWDC.
At AppleApple, the iMac at WWDC will be revamped with a new design, new GPUs and T2 chip, according to a new rumor
Gradually, Apple has introduced more opportunities to recycle and refurbish old products, making the purchase of new ones enjoy a discount to make them even more attractive. While we wait for this program to arrive in Spain, for now, if we want to buy the new MacBook Pro 13″ (2020) at a discount, we can manage it online.
